Welcome to Boulevard VEG!

Last summer, we built 28 planter boxes for vegetable gardens on the boulevards (the grass area between the sidewalk and the road) in Vancouver. The boxes created an easy way for neighbours to have a community garden.

We hope that the project brought community members together to learn about the environment and get involved in growing local and organic food. We succeeded in our goal to have the project spread throughout the city: the 28 boxes are now at 14 houses throughout Vancouver.

We will apply for a grant next summer to build more boxes, so please sign up to our mailing list to stay informed about the project!

Planter boxes: SOLD OUT

Planter boxes are made of cedar and are approximately 2-feet square and 16 inches tall. They are completely removable, so if you buy a box and find no use for it later on, we can give it to another household.

NOTE: the boxes are open on the bottom and must be placed on grass, since they are intended to be put on the boulevards.
